Del Bey will give a talk on her photography exhibit, “The Civil Rights Struggle in Minnesota: Portrait Narratives,” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, in Carleton’s Gould Library Athenaeum. The event is free and open to the public.

Del Bey’s photography exhibit, which opens in Gould Library on Monday, March 29, consists of photographs and personal stories capturing the experiences of Minnesotans who took part in the struggle for civil rights and personal equality. The exhibit, which Bey has said helped her “regain my belief in the power that individuals have to make a difference,” presents formal black-and-white portraits with commentaries drawn from Bey’s oral history interviews of Minnesotans from many professions. It will be on display through Sunday, June 20.
