Dean Shelby Boardman announces faculty promotions.

Shelby Boardman, Dean of the College, has announced that the Board of Trustees voted to promote the 18 members of the faculty.

Four retiring professors were honored with emeritus status. They are Barry (“Mike”) Casper, professor emeritus of physics; Richard Crouter, the John M. and Elizabeth W. Musser Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies; Jerry Mohrig, the Herman and Gertrude Mosier Stark Professor Emeritus of the Natural Sciences; and Norman Vig, the Winifred and Atherton Bean Professor Emeritus of Science, Technology, and Society.

Promoted from associate professor to professor are Tricia Ferrett, professor of chemistry; Mark Hansell, professor of Chinese; Clara Hardy, professor of classical languages; and Kofi Owusu, professor of English.

Promoted from assistant professor to associate professor are Clinton Cowan, associate professor of geology; Fernán Jaramillo, associate professor of biology; and Melinda Russell, associate professor of music.

Promoted from instructor to lecturer are Benjamin Allen, lecturer in music; Elizabeth Ericksen, lecturer in music; Mary Budd Horozaniecki, lecturer in music; David Saunders, lecturer in music; and David Singley, lecturer in music.

Promoted from from instructor to senior lecturer are Jackson Bryce, senior lecturer in music; and Mark Krusemeyer, senior lecturer in music.
