Hernández is professor of biology at Carleton.
Dan Hernández, professor of biology, will collaborate on a five-year USDA Climate-Smart Commodities project that partners tribal nations, immigrant-serving organizations, and other partners in efforts to scale climate-smart grain and poultry production through diversified grain rotations and an agroforestry-based regenerative poultry system. He will oversee efforts to measure and analyze greenhouse gas fluxes, soil nutrient availability, and the carbon sequestration potential of these practices.
