Cheryl Yin, assistant professor of anthropology, was interviewed and quoted in an article from The 19th titled, “A nonprofit started by teenagers turns the daughters of Cambodian refugees into leaders.” The article covers the nonprofit Khmer Girls in Action (KGA) in Long Beach, California that primarily serves Cambodian American youths whose parents resettled in the U.S. as refugees. As a Cambodian American and native of Long Beach, Yin shared her thoughts on the valuable work KGA is doing in the community.
