Cheryl Yin gives colloquium talk at Brown, speaks at 44th Annual Hmong New Year celebration

Cheryl Yin, assistant professor of anthropology, gave a colloquium talk on December 10 at Brown University titled, “Voicing the Khmer Rouge: Communist Revolutionary or Cruel Torturer?” In this talk, Yin analyzed re-enactments of Khmer Rouge language by Khmer Rouge survivors and former soldiers to understand how people today remember the Khmer Rouge.
On December 10, as a board member of Cambodian American Partnership of Minnesota, Yin also spoke at the 44th Annual Hmong New Year celebration.
