Fred Hagstrom’s ‘January 6’ artist’s book placed in Smithsonian American Art and Portrait Gallery Library
15 August 2023Hagstrom is Rae Schupack Nathan Professor of Art, emeritus at Carleton and created the artist’s book around the congressional testimony of four police officers who fought against the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Theresa Nash ’73 and husband Pierre Montant donate personal painting to Carleton in honor of 50th Reunion
21 July 2023The painting, Château Iowa, currently hangs in the OIL office, with plans to move it to the College’s new Multicultural Center once the building is finished.

The promotions are approved by the Board of Trustees and will take effect in the fall.

Carleton Commencement 2023
10 June 2023486 students graduated from the Carleton College Class of 2023 during a Commencement ceremony featuring remarks by President Alison Byerly, Cristina Camarillo ’23, Bahar Taş ’23 and Jonathan Capehart ’89.

The students selected for the 2023-24 Weitz Fellowships met with current and former fellows, the Weitz family and members of the Career Center as an introduction to the program and a welcome to Omaha and Lincoln.
