Barry Costanzi, assistant professor of physics, published a paper titled “S-shaped configurational magnetic states in mesoscale square permalloy particles” in Applied Physics Letters, co-authored with Anthony Cho ’21, Spencer Weeden ’20, Gregor Dairaghi ’21 and Dasha Palenova ’22. The work combines experiment and computer simulation to describe the different magnetic configurations that individual square magnets can take on at sizes around and below 200 nm, with potential applications in various magnetic information technologies.
