Amanda Luby publishes article in Law, Probability & Risk journal

Amanda Luby, assistant professor of statistics, published an article in Law, Probability & Risk with co-author Jay Kadane of Carnegie Mellon University. The article, “A variance decomposition approach to inconclusives in forensic black box studies,” introduces a metric for legal decision-makers to more appropriately weight results from forensic accuracy studies. The journal issue pairs the article with commentaries from several researchers along with a concluding rejoinder.
