Carleton’s annual activities fair filled the Bald Spot this Friday, with large numbers of first-year students flitting from table to table, and eager juniors and seniors attempting to promote interest and awareness of their various groups. The Juggling FISH were present in force, passing clubs and teaching new students the basic three ball pattern. Representatives of groups like Books for Africa, the Folk Singers, campus radio station KRLX and the Carleton Conservative Union worked to sign up new members, and it was evident from the number of “Young Voter for Kerry” signs that the Carleton Democrats were getting the word out. An all-campus barbeque accompanied the event, allowing the upperclassmen who weren’t working tables to sit back and reminisce back to their first weeks at school.
