Sarah Kennedy, Robert A. Oden, Jr. postdoctoral fellow for innovation in the humanities and archaeology, recently published an op-ed titled “The Colonial Roots of Peru’s Troubles” in SAPIENS, a digital anthropology magazine. In the piece, she draws on her archaeological investigations into Peru’s colonial silver mines to detail evidence for lethal working conditions, child labor and exploitation that continues today.
