Nathan Grawe quoted in Chronicle of Higher Education on college enrollment gaps
Grawe is professor of economics at Carleton.
Nathan Grawe, professor of economics, was quoted in The Chronicle of Higher Education in a piece titled “Want to Close Gaps in College Enrollment? Improve Academic Preparation, a New Study Says.” The story covered a new study by the Brookings Institution, which found that racial and gender-based disparities in college-going rates disappear when students receive similar levels of academic preparation in high school. Grawe’s comments underscored “the importance of higher education collaborating with K-12 in all sorts of ways” in order to help close the gaps.
