Chérif Keïta publishes article on Nelson Mandela as a research inspiration

Chérif Keïta, co-director of Africana Studies and William H. Laird professor of French and the liberal arts, published an article in May 2022 titled “Madiba and Mali” in Africa is a Country. The article discusses Nelson Mandela’s inspiration and personal challenge to Keïta as a researcher.
The article has been translated into Spanish by the Africa Information and Documentation Center of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and published as “Madiba y Mali.” It has also been translated into French and published in Senegal as “La Liberté, ce lien remarquable qui lie le Mali à l’Afrique du Sud.”
