In November 2018, David Whetstone’s original composition, “The Triumph of Truth & Time for Trumpet & Organ,” was performed by the University of Minnesota’s eight-member Trumpet Ensemble at a special mass at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis. Whetstone is a senior lecturer in raga (the various melodic forms of Indian classical music) and sitar (the plucked stringed instrument, originating from the Indian subcontinent, used in Hindustani classical music).
