KaShia Tasli “MaiKia” Moua ’99 was cited in an August 8 Asian American Press (St. Paul) article titled “Hmong Women’s Action Team Banquet.” Moua was the recipient of the Hmong Women’s Leadership Award for her work as the founder and director of Hmong Women’s Circle. Moua’s father said that the positive difference she is making with Hmong girls will be more evident in 10 to 15 years when they are entering and graduating from college and giving back to their community. Muoa majored in sociology/anthropology at Carleton.
