Led by the Associate Chaplain for Jewish and Interfaith Life, Jewish Students of Carleton (JSC), and the broader Northfield Jewish community will gather to pray, read from the Torah, and continue the celebration of the Jewish New Year. Services will conclude around noon and we will eat a festive lunch together.
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. INTO THE ARBORETUM SERVICE PROJECT, Campus Transit Hub (Nevada Street and First Street)
You will gain familiarity with the Carleton Arboretum and build community within your New Student Week group by planting trees in the Lower Arboretum. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, including long pants, closed-toe shoes, socks, and rain gear if needed. This event will happen rain or shine, but could be canceled if the weather is hazardous. Bug spray, gloves, and transportation provided. Feel free to bring a water bottle. Buses will leave the Transit Hub every 15 minutes – check with your NSW group leader for your scheduled time. You will volunteer in shifts, each of which will be an hour long. Hosted by the Center for Community and Civic Engagement (CCCE) and the Arboretum.

With certainty, there is a variety of talents that your class has to share. Hopefully by now you’ve practiced and are ready to debut your unique talent. Be ready to be amazed and have an excellent time getting to know your peers. Additionally, the NOlympics results will be announced for the “best” residence hall floors with prizes awarded.
