Academic Advising at Carleton

All students are paired with advisors who help facilitate active and thoughtful planning throughout all four years at Carleton.

How do I find out who my adviser is?

Stay tuned to your Carleton email in early September for an introduction from your Carleton adviser. Please note that your assignment may be subject to change until after registration is complete. In early September, the name of your academic adviser can be found through the Academics and Registration app in Workday in early September. The Important Contacts Support Network window on the main page of the app will list your support network and their role, including your academic adviser.

How do I find out the location of my group advising meeting?

The location of your group advising meeting will be provided by your academic adviser via an introductory email. New Student Week leaders will also have this information available.

How do I know when my individual advising meeting is?

The time and location of your academic advising meeting is coordinated with your adviser during the group advising meeting. Individual meetings typically last 20–30 minutes, and are a chance for you to ask specific questions, and to review your schedule. These meetings are held during a predetermined time frame that is posted on the New Student Week schedule.
