Welcome to the Class of 2028! This is an exciting time for you and your family, and we hope to make your transition as smooth as possible.
Over the next few months, there are several important tasks for you to complete. Start by
establishing your Carleton email address; you’ll find instructions in the enclosed document and your personal email. Access detailed instructions for each of the items on your new student checklist at go.carleton.edu/nsc. The paper copy of your checklist is designed to help you keep track of your progress. Check off the items as you complete them.
There are many resources for navigating the checklist items: in the online instructions, each item has a campus department listed, and we encourage you to contact that office directly to get the most thorough answers. You can also explore a variety of resources at go.carleton.edu/new, a website we’ve put together just for new students and their families. Learn from current students about what to expect during New Student Week, get ready to explore our liberal arts curriculum, and prepare for moving into your residence hall in a few months.
It is important to stay tuned to your Carleton email throughout the summer. From today on, all college messages will only be sent to you through your Carleton email. We encourage you to check your email frequently this summer, and to keep in touch with us as questions arise.
Finally, mark your calendar and prepare to arrive on campus the morning of Tuesday, September 10 for New Student Week. Some students will arrive earlier, including students participating in International Student Orientation and varsity athletes arriving early for pre-season training. Check your Carleton email for information about those programs. And, if your family wants to help you move in? Great, we’d love to have them! Parents and friends should plan to leave campus by 7:30 p.m. on September 10. As the New Student Week schedule develops, we’ll be sure to update the New Student website at go.carleton.edu/new.
We’re so excited to welcome you to Carleton. Keep in touch and let us know what questions you have—we’re here to help!
Sincerely,
