Seeking student applicants for new DBER REU for this summer, at UC San Diego
We at the University of California, San Diego are proud to announce our new, NSF-funded REU focused on DBER (discipline-based education research), called VERSA (Virtual Education Research in STEM Academy). We are looking for undergraduate students who would like to conduct research on STEM education at the college level in any of a variety of STEM disciplines, including biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, and psychology. Our program is also novel in that it is intentionally mostly- virtual. The first and last weeks will be on-site in San Diego, but the bulk of the program will be virtual.
If you have students who you think would thrive in research, please send them our way! We are interested in having a cohort of students with diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences. That includes community college students and students with no experience in research. We particularly hope to reach students who would benefit from the virtual aspect of this research experience.
The program is 9 weeks, from June 20–Aug. 19. Each VERSA student will receive a $5,400 stipend and an additional $1,255 allowance for housing and food. All travel is fully funded. Discover more information and apply by May 15.
