Hong given award by Minnesota State Arts Board
9 September 2015Gao Hong, director of the Carleton Chinese Music Ensemble and Senior Lecturer in Chinese Musical Instruments, has been awarded an Artist Initiative grant and an Arts Tour Minnesota grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Hong will produce and perform Storytelling in Chinese Music from the Ancient Past to Modern Times in seven greater Minnesota communities.

Carleton Singers to Perform in Boston Area March 22-25
20 March 2015The Carleton College Singers, conducted by professor of music Lawrence Burnet, will perform six times in the Boston area next week (March 22-25). The program features Minnesota composers, including Alex Freeman, Gao Hong, Carol Barnett, Brent Michael Davids, Rene Clausen, Robert Morris, and the late Stephen Paulus.
Area alumni, parents, and friends are encouraged to attend. All performances are free and open to the public.
