Piano Recital: Matthew McCright “Forward Looking Back”
Carleton Faculty member Matthew McCright’s concert featuring the titular work by Dorothy Hindman serves as the anchor point to this program exploring the cycles of time —both of the future and our collective pasts. Andrea Mazzariello’s As Far As You Can Stretch a Web visits his remembered past in relation to the piano which sets up the ultimate in reflected memory, Echoes by Kirsten Broberg. The pianist's conservatory days are revived through In the Mists by Leoš Janáček and finishes with the commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of Paul Dresher’s masterpiece Blue Diamonds.
