Christopher U. Light Lectureship: Evan Chambers Lecture - The Oldest Human Technology

Thu, April 24, 2025 • 4:30pm - 5:30pm (1h) • Weitz Center for Creativity - Room 236
Music is one of the very oldest of human technologies—it has been used for as long as we have existed to bring us together as a species and to stitch us back into the fabric of the living earth around us. This talk presents some of Evan Chambers' work attempting to bend classical music and its rituals back toward those goals.

Sponsored by the Chirstopher U. Light Lectureship . The Christopher U. Light Lectureship in Music was created in 1985 (1985 for Art and 1984 for Literature) by Mr. Light, Carleton Class of 1958. Among his many interests, Mr. Light is a freelance writer and composer, a record producer and a musician with interests in computers and music.
