East and West - A Female Cultural Communicator
Award-winning Guzheng (Chinese zither) master Zhongbei (Daisy) Wu will be in residency at Carleton College February 14-18 for a lecture, concert and masterclass. On February 14th she will present her lecture "“East and West”——A Female Cultural Communicator " where she will share how her life and encounters in the U.S. are shaped by her cultural background, personal experiences, and professional aspirations, and how she realizes her self-worth and identity through music creation, performance, and teaching. She will also participate in a concert celebrating Lunar New Year with other professional Chinese musicians and the Carleton Chinese Music Ensemble on Sunday, February 18th 3:00pm in Kracum Performance Hall. All events are free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by the Elizabeth Nason Distinguished Women Visitors Fund.
