The Mal-tempered Clavier: Exploring the Villainization of Black Women through the Organ
It's a fairly emotional program with lots of baroque, loud, and expressive pieces. The purpose is to tell my story, but to combat the villainization many Black women face for things as simple as emotional expression. Something as simple as my enjoyment of loud, Baroque pieces has even received the derision of the "angry, Black woman" trope, so that's where this program develops.
