Carleton College student Esme Krone ’24 talks about our current exhibition in the latest edition of MPR radio’s Art Hounds, a show where people in the Minnesota arts community talk about a performance, exhibition, or event they want others to check out. Come see the exhibition, Towards a Warm Embrace, open seven days a week now through April 14. In Esme’s words:
“The show is by NYC-based artists Ezra Benus and Finnegan Shannon ’11 in collaboration with Carleton students. It is about disability and ableism, but it’s also about togetherness and solidarity… it has a lot of stuff to touch and places to sit. It’s really experimental, like the stuff Carleton students made are actually a bunch of heating pads… that they printed covers for. They’re really cute and nice and are in a room with warm lighting where you can sit and chill out with your friends. Some of the artwork is also really funny! There’s a bench that says “this exhibit has made me stand for too long”.
