Carleton adds 6 exhibits to #ClayNorthfield

18 March 2019

An April 4 art crawl will invite community members to Carleton, St. Olaf College, and the Northfield Arts Guild as part of #ClayNorthfield, a city-wide celebration of ceramic work.

Inspired by the choice of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) to hold its 2019 conference, Claytopia, in Minneapolis in late March, the Northfield Arts Guild, Carleton College, and St. Olaf College partnered to create 13 unique exhibitions of contemporary ceramic work. Falling under the general title of #ClayNorthfield, each of these experiences celebrates creativity, diversity, and the important role art plays in our lives. This Northfield celebration of clay is unprecedented and designed for both visitors and the local community.

During the #ClayNorthfield art crawl—dubbed the “clay crawl,” and held from 5-8 p.m. on April 4, 2019—all venues will be open for an evening of exploring, celebrating, and appreciating. Special artist and curator talks are scheduled at each location to help visitors plan their journey:

Carleton has six clay exhibits connected to #ClayNorthfield:
