Learning and Teaching with the Carleton Art Collection
Curious Objects: Learning and Teaching with the Carleton Art Collection presents highlights from the Perlman Teaching Museum’s permanent collection, emphasizing how students and faculty use art as a teaching tool. Engagement with visual art can strengthen a range of skills-based learning such as critical thinking, creative expression, writing, public speaking, and the understanding of alternative perspectives through group discussion and visual literacy.
Curious Objects includes a mix of artworks from around the world, including Japanese prints, Chinese ceramics, Malian portrait photography, a 15th century illuminated manuscript, botanical illustrations by 19th century naturalists, Roman antiquities, and more.
Please join us at a reception for our two fall exhibitions: 5:30–7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022 in the Museum.
