“I work mostly in photography, exploring themes of nature, body, and experiences of everyday life. I am interested in how experiences and environments are culturally constructed.”

Favorite memory of life at Carleton

“My first studio art class was observational drawing with Fred, and my second class, which ultimately led to my decision to major, was Linda’s experimental photography. Boliou has been a place that I felt I truly belonged and I am forever grateful for the all the kindness and mentorship that I had there.”

Favorite memory of studying with Dan Bruggeman, Fred Hagstrom, and Linda River Rossi

“The South Pacific trip with Fred, as well as my experience at the LTC have taught me of what it means to be an artist in life — to be humble, observant, and sensitive. Linda’s care, patience and generosity have shown me how to be a supportive mentor and companion to young creative practitioners. Dan’s openness — towards the various kinds of works that I made in his conceptual drawing class — showed me the freedom and possibilities of creative expression when one is not bounded by disciplines or restrictions of other kinds.”
