“Landscape is the central subject of my work. These pieces reference specific elements of ways we study the natural world — tree growth, soil samples, and permafrost layers. I experiment with the repetition of a simple line in drawing, printmaking, and installation to generate meaningful relationships.”
Favorite memory of studying with Fred Hagstrom
“Fred taught me as an undergraduate student, and I am exceptionally grateful for his ongoing mentorship and friendship, his deep generosity, and the opportunities he continues to bring into my life. I am also thankful for Fred, River, and Dan, who have been wonderfully knowledgeable, supportive, and inspiring during my own teaching experience at Carleton. These people — this community — is profoundly special.”
