Reflective Writing Across the Curriculum: Benefits and Approaches

Wed, December 11, 2024 • 12:00pm - 4:00pm (4h) • Weitz 236

Facilitator: Bill North, Professor of History

Stipend: $100 for eligible participants

Reflective writing is a category that many of us employ in select contexts, and especially in first-year seminars in order to develop student self-awareness. This workshop will explore the benefits (and tradeoffs) of expanding its use both within first year seminars but also more broadly in our curricular offerings.  In addition to discussing the metacognitive and pedagogical benefits of reflective writing, we will discuss what factors make for successful (and unsuccessful) assignments.  This session is sponsored by a Wake Forest Educating Character Initiative grant.

Participants must register.
