Forms of Choice. The Art of Writing in the Middle Ages

Curated by the students in Medieval Latin (LATN 243), this exhibition brings together a variety of manuscripts in facsimile that are designed to illustrate the variety of forms, the variety of scripts and decorative schemes, and the use of images, layout, and diagrams by medieval scribes to convey their works. Students invite visitors to reflect on the medieval manuscript as the product of thousands upon thousands of choices made by individuals and groups during not only the manuscripts production but also its use.
