Math/Stats Colloquium: Dr. Alicia Prieto-Langarica, Youngstown State University

Thu, October 9, 2025 • 4:00pm - 5:00pm (1h) • CMC 206

Title: Making undergraduate research work for faculty and students: an example-driven talk

Abstract: Getting involved in research has become a must for all undergraduate students. Why is it so important to do research? What exactly counts as research in mathematics? How do we make it work best for our students? How do we make it work for our faculty members? The talk will consist of examples of projects with undergraduate students in very different formats. This will be an interactive talk-questions and audience participation are encouraged!
