Join us for a lecture recital about the writing of Antonín Dvořák’s American String Quartet in Spillville, Iowa in the summer of 1893. Biology Professor Mark McKone and Dr. David Beccue will discuss their recently published paper that examined the identity of the bird that inspired Dvořák, followed by a complete performance of the piece by a collaborative string quartet of Carleton Faculty and Minnesota Orchestra musicians.
