Join Paglia Fellow Jessalyn Ayars, Biology '21, to hear about her research and her role as a Paglia Fellow. GPS tracking is often used to inform conservation actions by describing distributions, habitat use, or responses to landscape changes. However, this assumes that the habitat features wildlife select are advantageous to their fitness, when in reality, habitat selection and fitness are not always coupled. Jessalyn will discuss the relationships between reproductive outcomes and habitat selection for California spotted owls and address her experiences as a post-baccalaureate researcher with the Paglia fellowship.
