I’ve taken three incredible trips with Mary and Carleton students. Starting with Death Valley as a recent grad in the mid 1980’s, and most recently to Tasmania in 2016 and 2018. Mary has been such an inspiration to me in how to teach students in the field. Her interest in all aspects of the natural world and her enthusiasm for sharing it with students is phenomenal! I have learned so much from her about how to inspire and encourage our students to be curious and lifelong learners about our environment. Thank you Mary for all your lessons and inspiration. I hope I can continue to have great field adventures with you.
