A fellow teacher audited my physics class and complimented me on my student engagement style noting that she had a geology teacher at Idaho State University with a similar style. “Oh yeah?” I replied. “Yes, Dave Rogers was his name…” My guess is that you, Mary, are the common denominator. I learned so much from you about both geology and teaching. I recall a dinner party at your house at the close of the Plate Tectonics seminar. We made pizzas reconstructing the break-up of Pangea, and for dessert you served baked Alaska! Never been so stuffed in my life! You always went all out to make things fun, interesting, and even delicious! Thanks!
