Mark- Happy retirement!

When I signed up for Chinese 101, I wasn’t even sure it was a language class. After Mark tricked us with a week or two of tone practice and only a handful of new characters every class, the add-drop period passed, and myself and other naive freshmen found ourselves strapped to the rocket that is the Carleton Chinese Department. Three years or fulfilling study and progress (although not as much progress in the tones department) later, I find myself grateful for all Mark’s work leading us through the intricacies of the Chinese language, and saddened that we’ll miss him for my last year.

Wishing you the best in retirement,
汉田
