Congratulations Mai Lao-shi! Chinese was one of my favorite studies at Carleton. Even though I only took 3 terms (in 1992), I absorbed enough that when I used it in China during my honeymoon in 2003, people expected me to understand better than I did (and when I didn’t they looked at me like I was an idiot).
