Learning and Teaching Center Student Fellows
The Perlman Learning and Teaching Center (LTC) promotes dialogue among faculty and staff about pedagogical issues, maintains a resource library, consults with faculty interested in improving their teaching, provides student observers for faculty who request them, and sponsors programs designed to enhance learning and teaching throughout the College.
LTC Student Fellows serve as student liaisons to the center, helping to guide the work of the center (and especially to plan programs designed to serve students), serve as student observers for faculty, and assist with various office tasks, as needed.
As an LTC Fellow you will:
- Serve as a student observer for faculty who wish to get student feedback on their teaching. In partnership with the faculty member, you will attend class sessions and provide them with confidential feedback targeted to their specific teaching goals.
- Serve as liaisons between students and the LTC by collaborating with student groups to increase student involvement in LTC events so that we can ensure that students’ perspectives and experiences are reflected in the LTC’s mission and programming.
- Partner with faculty on their teaching and learning projects and take part in LTC pedagogical development events such as syllabus workshops and reading discussions.
- Support the LTC in its ongoing work to develop useful programming for both faculty and students, expand the fellows’ own role in the Center, and select future fellows.
- Meet with one another and with the director of the LTC periodically.
- Work as the LTC Office Assistant
Fellows will need to be responsible, confidential, accountable, and have strong communication skills. The LTC hopes to hire 2-3 new fellows for the 2023-24 academic year, and expects that fellows will work approximately five to ten hours per week. Students can be temporarily released from some hours in another campus job, but only if the other supervisor agrees. Preference will be given to students who will be on campus all year. Students from all majors and class year are encouraged to apply.
To apply, fill out the form below. You will be contacted for an interview once we have your completed application and have checked your references.
