Kathleen Yancey is one of the preeminent scholars of composition and rhetoric working today, and she has published widely on the role of reflective writing in the undergraduate curriculum. She has recently developed the Teaching for Transfer (TFT) curriculum, which uses scaffolded reflective writing to promote students’ metacognition and help them employ their developing writing skills across courses. In this presentation, she will discuss the goals and development of the TFT curriculum and address its possible applications at Carleton.
