April 27, 2021: The Post Pandemic Classroom

29 April 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted teaching and learning in many ways. Faculty and students have learned new skills and expanded their options for interacting virtually in ways that are here to stay. The pandemic has also highlighted the importance of in-person activities for establishing and nourishing learning communities. How does this disruption impact the design and use of physical classrooms and other learning spaces?  What activities, in addition to lecture and discussion, should our classrooms support?  The goal of the session is to both raise awareness of how space shapes our teaching and learning and generate input from staff and faculty concerning the ways we should adapt and schedule our classrooms for the future.
