The Carleton 2033 Strategic Direction calls on the LTC to play a role in achieving Carleton’s goals of Curiosity, Community, and Impact over the next decade:
- Goal 4: Carleton will model the interdisciplinary approaches needed for students to address the complex challenges of the future; Action 12: The Provost’s Office will work with faculty and the Perlman Learning and Teaching Center to develop structures to better support current interdisciplinary work as well as future pedagogical collaboration and innovation.
- Goal 5: Carleton will create space for experimentation, exploration and intellectual risk-taking inside and outside of the classroom; Action 15: We will support the Carleton faculty’s commitment to pedagogical innovation and teaching excellence by expanding the role of the Perlman Center for Learning and Teaching.
In light of this, it is important to understand our community’s collective vision for learning and teaching at Carleton, and to discuss what LTC programming and structure will best support this vision. In this listening session, we will seek input on the future of the LTC from faculty and staff. This feedback will be a central component of the LTC’s upcoming external review as well as providing a map for LTC strategic planning.
