Rethinking Revision
While we often ask students to revise their work (formal essays, poster presentations, or artistic creations), we don’t always explicitly teach students how to revise. We will explore how to help students understand the difference between deep and superficial revision, as well as approaches to structuring opportunities for revision, and reflect on the process. We’ll also consider how to help students move beyond seeing revision as a failure of their initial efforts, and how the different cultural contexts from which students come might impact how they experience the revision process.
