Comps Title: The verbhood of Mandarin ba- and its role in resultative constructions

Current Employment: Product Manager at Lenovo

“I joined the Peace Corps right after I graduated from Carleton to teach English at a university in China, using linguistics knowledge every day both while teaching English and while studying Mandarin. I work at a Chinese tech company now, combining my Mandarin skills with the computer science half of my Carleton double major.

I also help teach language to other people in the company in my free time, leading weekly English classes when I was based in China for two years and teaching Mandarin now that I’m based in the US. My linguistics degree opened a door for me to live and work abroad, learn a new language, and connect with all sorts of different people, and I’ve found these experiences invaluable for both my personal and professional growth.”
