I am constantly analyzing speech samples from students that I am assessing to see the underlying phonological patterns of their speech sound errors. I then have to communicate this information to parents in a way they can understand. Having a strong background in phonetics and phonology helps me do this analysis accurately and pick which targets are going to help my kids the most!
