Computer Labs

There are three computer labs in the building:

  • The Reference Room on the 4th floor (room 451)
  • The Instruction Lab on the 3rd floor (room 306)
  • The Sunken Lab on the 3rd floor (room 318)

These provide access to dual-boot iMacs (loaded with the full complement of lab software, bootable in either Windows or Mac operating systems), color printing, black and white printing, and scanning.

Printing, Scanning, Photocopying & Faxing

Color and black-and-white printers are in the Reference Room on the 4th floor. View printing instructions.

Scanning and photocopying can be done with the scanning beds on the tops of the printers. Two flatbed scanners are also available in the computer lab in the Reference Room. View photocopying instructions.

Faxes can be sent with the scanning beds on the tops of the printers. View faxing instructions.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available throughout the Library. View instructions for connecting to WiFi.

Assistive Technology

Assistive technology, including speech-to-text and text-to-speech software, is available in room 328 next to the Instruction Computer Lab on the 3rd floor and in the East Wing on the Mezzanine/balcony level.

Technology for Check Out

The following items are available for 4-hour check out at the circulation desk:

  • Optical drives – for playing DVDs and CDs on computers
  • Phone chargers
  • Laptop chargers
  • HDMI cables
  • Headphones
  • Assistive technology headphones

Large Screens for Group Work

Large screens are mounted on the walls on the 3rd and 4th floors for students to connect their laptops and devices to. HDMI adapters are attached to the screens and available for check out at the circulation desk.

Locations of large screens:

  • One in the Reference Room on 4th
  • Two in the East Wing on 4th
  • One in the blue corner near the periodicals on 3rd
  • One in room 314 on 3rd

Microfilm/Microfiche Readers & Scanners

Microfilm/microfiche readers and scanners are available in the Reference Room on the main floor of the library. There are two kinds:

  • One analog reader/printer
  • Two digital reader/scanners capable of scanning to a file or sending to the printers.

Ask at the Research/IT desk for help using these machines.

Viewing Stations for DVD, Blu-ray & VHS

Viewing stations for DVD and VHS are located in the East Wing on the Mezzanine/balcony level. Optical drives, which can play DVDs on computers through USB, are also available for check out at the circulation desk.
