Libraries and Writing Centers are ideal partners! Our shared goal is to help students become good at using and communicating information in a wide variety of contexts.
Here at Carleton, the Library and the Writing Center have worked together since 2006, and the Writing Center moved into the Library building in 2014. Each year, librarians join the training sessions for new Writing Assistants, and each year we talk together about how to use sources well in college writing. We also help students figure out when a Writing Assistant would be most helpful, or when to talk to a librarian, or when it might make sense to have all of us meet as a group.
