Clay and Metal in Tandem is a collaborative independent study in three-dimensional art by George Lefkowicz ’25 and Nathan Parker ’26 supervised by Kelly Connole and Danny Saathoff, and represents a brief exploration of combining two juxtaposed mediums. The project combines intentional fragmentation with thoughtful repair: creating ceramic objects, cutting them up, and bringing the parts together again using sculptural metalwork. Oxidized copper wire creates twisting patterns between ceramic pieces, holding them in place to create unique vessels. Each piece was made in full collaboration between the artists: George produced the ceramics and Nathan the metalwork.

On view in the entryway of Gould Library until April 9, 2026.
