Erich Brooks: Student, Photographer, Friend

Erich Books, class of 1975, was a studio arts major and an enthusiastic and prolific photographer of the vibrant community of his classmates and friends at Carleton in the early to mid-1970s. His photographs capture a portrait of Black student life on campus at the time, documenting everything from large campus-wide events to more private time with friends. This exhibit highlights a small sample of Brooks' photographs, displaying them along with contextualizing materials from the Carleton College Archives.
