Class Visits
Special Collections welcomes opportunities to collaborate with instructors at Carleton. We focus on providing hands-on learning experiences and developing skills in using primary sources.
Different types of class visits can take place with Special Collections, such as orientations, workshops, sessions that blend primary source literacy with learning through making, assignment support, and small group activities. Every class will receive a standard introduction to special collections and an overview of how to handle rare materials.
Fill out the form below to schedule a class visit to Special Collections. We require a minimum of two weeks notice for class visits. We strongly encourage instructors to plan in advance as much as possible. A consultation with the Special Collections Librarian will be scheduled to discuss the class visit and determine the best materials to use. Please share all relevant course materials including syllabus, related assignment, etc.
