The Language Center offers funding for approved language proficiency tests (up to $300) to help students strengthen applications for:
- Graduate and professional programs
- Fellowships and scholarships
- Off-campus studies programs
- Internships and career opportunities
If the cost of a test exceeds $300, we’re happy to help you consult with other campus offices that may be able to provide additional funding.

We’re happy to help coordinate additional tests when possible — please allow up to one month of advance notice.
Not sure which test is right for you? You can schedule a meeting with the Director of the Language Center to talk through your options
Important eligibility notes
- This funding is intended for testing beyond end-of-sequence exams or testing already offered to graduating majors/minors.
- If you are retaking the same test (for example, STAMP after completing 204), at least one year must have passed between test sessions.
- Funding is limited and dependent on the number of requests received. Students are strongly encouraged to contact the Language Center as early as possible to help ensure funding can be guaranteed.
- Students should have documentation of the opportunity (program, fellowship, job, or graduate application) that requires or recommends language testing so we can help determine the best plan.
